2nd Trimester

Need stroller recs for two kids, different ages

I'm looking for a stroller that will accommodate a Graco snugride32 infant car seat AND have a spot for DD, who will be 2.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to remove the infant car seat when it comes time and then have a stroller that fits both kids.

I don't like the kind where one kid is hiding behind the other and can't see out, but a stroller that has a back seat that is somehow elevated so they can see out is OK.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • The Baby Jogger City Select and City Mini Double both get really good reviews and would fit what you're looking for. I went with the City Mini, mostly b/c of price (it's cheaper than the Select) and b/c I have the City Mini single and love it.

  • We have the graco duoglider.  I do not recommend it.  It has worked and served its purpose for 2 years, but older DD is outgrowing it, and I'm glad to have a reason to replace it.  It is heavy and does not steer well (2 hands is a must).  It did have two full size seats and a nice easily accessible basket.

We just got the city mini double. We have only used it a handful of times, but I am impressed so far.  It is a side by side, but it fits through our regular sized front door no problems.  It weighs less than the duoglider, is easier to steer (I can do it one handed with both kids), it has great sun canopies, and the kids seem comfortable.  DD who sat in the back of the duoglider, said that she loved sitting next to her brother and that she can see better.  The downside is the basket is very difficult to access, it is a little awkward though manageable to handle while folded, and to use it with a car seat you will have to buy an adapter.  In fact, everything is an accessory...cup holders, snack tray, etc.  I got a good deal on the 2010 model through allmodernbaby.com using their 10% off coupon (though colors are limited).

  • I have the Graco Quattro Duo stroller (Zurich model).  You can put the baby seat in the back and the older one sits in the front.  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!  It's the only way I could get out of the house when DS#1 was 2.5 and DS#2 was just a baby.

We use the lighter stroller now for DS#2, but with DS#3 on the way we'll break out the double again. : )

  • the city select is the only stroller I know of that's a tandem, but has the kids on different levels so they can both see out. We LOVE ours, and I've tested it out with friends' kids in the second seat, and even with 50+ total pounds of toddler in it, it was a dream to push!

  • I have a Phil and Teds Sport with a doubles kit and I really like hte in-line stroller.  The other great thing that it is easy to convert from single to double etc...

  • I love, love, love my city mini double but my kids are the same age.  Several friends have used it in your situation and are very pleased.
