As an avid runner (3 miles, 5x a week) I am contemplating getting a jogging stroller. As a gift I received a "normal" stroller travel system, but am debating on exchanging it out for a jogging travel system, but am debating as a runner if I would actually like the feel of pushing a stroller while jogging.
I guess what I am asking is any input from those who use jogging strollers and run often. In general I have heard that jogging strollers tend to be better built than a "normal" stroller and was wondering if that was also more than enough reason to get one.
Any input would be appreciated!  THANKS!
Re: Jogging Stroller Help?
Since you asked for any input, I know that with jogging strollers you'll need to be a little careful when you start with your infant. There is apparantly a risk for shaken baby syndrome (but I think that once you take precautions, that is greatly reduced).
I just read that on another board, but haven't researched it further yet to find out more.
I'm anticipating getting both a 'regular' stroller for the ease of matching with a carseat and a jogger.
I would say, the downside to having the jog stroller as your only stroller would be the bulkiness of it. I don't find it an issue but it does take up space in the trunk, can be a bit heavier etc. But to get around that you could always buy an umbrella stroller which holds kids as early as 4 months old if you want something compact in the future.
LOVE my double BOB as well. It is huge though. It can't be pushed around the mall or anything. I could see getting a Snap N Go (or some other similar frame stroller) for strolling through the mall with the baby in the car seat, and then a small umbrella stroller once baby is out of the car seat. (If I had to do it over.) Definitely need a jog stroller though to run with LO.
Once you're going, the stroller really rolls itself. It just provides a whole lot of resistance when going up hills!
This hands down. I run about 6-8 miles 2-3 times a week, and this stroller is the best!
If you are an avid runner, you definitely need a jogging stroller! I have the Bumbleride Indie- it's wonderful! You can spend the money on a sweet jogging stroller and use it for everything, or end up having 2 strollers- one regular one and another for jogging. For us, the jogging stroller made the most sense.
As far as pushing the stroller goes, it takes a little getting used to, but it's not bad at all. It's such a smooth ride and the stroller is really easy to maneuver one handed. You should test them out at the store and see how you like it.
