  • I'm good - down to less than 7 weeks to go - when other people say that I think "wow, you're close" but when I think of MY 7 weeks it seems like a long time!!

    How're you?!

Seven weeks to go.... It seems like just yesterday that we were introduced.  Have you gotten everything in order (I remember you last saying that you haven't purchased anything for LO)?

I'm doing much better week 3 than I was week 1 and 2.  Trying to establish an 'internet' relationship with the Parenting after 35 group (miss pregnant after 35 group-had a real connection).  BF was a challenge until this past week, LO is so small that she doesn't realize when she's hungry (she's finally back to birth weight) and doesn't always wake up.  Don't want to return to work but don't have a choice, it just struck me this morning that I'd love to stay at home full time, maybe I'll find something closer to home.  Every day is something new and I'm really enjoying it.  Can't wait for you ladies to move over to the Parenting board...

  • I still have a lot to do - find a daycare is the main one.  I hear you on the back to work part.  I am taking 10 weeks - 4 of which are unpaid so I'm stressed to the max over that (I'm the sole breadwinner - we'll live off savings for a month but that stresses me out!!).  My MIL bought our car seat though - that was a big one for me - and we've got clothes and diapers.  Hope breastfeeding works out or else we'll be scrambling for bottles and formula.  Still need to go pick up the co-sleeper (and the crib but the crib won't get set up for a couple months).  But that means I have to do a major clean/purge in our master bedroom to make SPACE for the above mentioned...and I haven't been able to do that yet.  Maybe tomorrow...

We started our birth class - 5 weeks worth.  I'm the only mom there with kids already - for everyone else, it's their first.  But it seems laid back enough...I'll do a seperate post on how the class went - the highlight was me getting the giggles so badly I was *crying* trying not to laugh...

I lurk on the parenting boards...but I bet nobody would mind if I jumped in - I *am* an over 35 parent already, just not of a baby/toddler!

I am totally stalking your conversation here, and had to add... this happened to me! I had to excuse myself, go to the bathroom and pull myself together.

Vincent, if you don't mind me asking......what is different on the parenting over 35 board?

Not much is different no drama, the ladies are really informative and genuine just miss talking to the ladies that I established relationships with already on this board.  I guess it will just take some time.

  • Most of us there were on since the board started up, and we knew each other from *this* board before that... and some even from the TTC 35+ board.  It's a close-knit group, but I think we're welcoming.  It's just hard when you haven't "known" everyone for years.  Plus it's a bit slow lately.
