I am flipping out about DS's party. I was planning on scheduling the party, then put it off for a while, then lots of people started to ask me when and where it is. So I booked a state park pavillion. I'm overwhelmed, I don't want to go, I feel like he's not even my kid. He'll never remember if I'm there or not, but how can I not go without people asking questions? How bad would it be if I didn't go? Should I just cancel the party (invites already went out..)?? I need some help/advice, anything.

Re: how do i get out of going to LO's birthday party?
Scale down and delegate. It will help you feel not so overwhelmed. Also, he may not remember it. But, I think you could look back and wish you went. Good luck.
I was hospitalized when we first set the date for DD's party...so needless to say I didn't really want to go/throw it.
Well, we had it last week and things went very well - everyone knew the situiation I was in, and how little stress I could handle. I did was PP said and delegated and had LOTS of help from my DH. I couldn't have done it without help. I know your DS won't necessarily remember the party, but pictures are worth a 1000 words...GL to you, I know how you feel.
