I went through all of DS stuff that he no longer uses. All his toys, clothes that are too small, clothes in the wrong season, room stuff, etc. My car is packed to the brim. I'm going to take it all down to Once Upon A Child today and sell them whatever they'll buy. They don't give you much but I'm just too busy to bother setting it on CraigsList or on-line or anything. I just need it gone. I didn't realize how much stuff we had collected. I found: high chair / booster combo new in box, indoor slide, Ergo, tunnel, push toy, baby gates, high chair that attaches to a table, clothes, smaller toys, shoes, etc.
We have a ton of space in our house now and it's much less overwhelming. I just ordered this play kitchen on Amazon. A friend has it and DS loooooooooves it. I also got him some wooden pantry food, refrigerator food, and a set of pots and pans. It feels so good to purge! Now I just have to keep on doing it. I want to go through our hallway and living room closets, the bathroom, our desks, and all our cabinets.
Re: I did it. I purged.
Good for you. I really need to do that too but I get so sad realizing he's growing up so I just leave all his baby stuff around LOL
DS loves his kitchen in his playhouse outside. I have a bunch of the ikea cloth food. It's super cheap and cute. The Melissa and Doug food is nice too but my dogs chew on it.
Nice to see someone else has a kitchen for their boy. I want to buy one similar to yours for inside but DH thinks its too girly...
Have you seen the wooden vegetable sets that come with a cutting board? The pieces are velcro-ed together and makes a really cool "cutting sound" when you use the wooden chef's knife to slice them up.
I liked playing with it so much I got the fruit set, too even though O won't play with it for a very long time.. haha!
Also, hey! Which ergo, what color, and how much? I think that would be worth selling online or on CL, anyway. They sell for over $50.
I totally ordered one of those cutting food sets! I've never seen one IRL so I was hoping it would be cool.
I had the Ergo listed on CraigsList. I had 5 people e-mail me and set up a time to come see it. Every single one of them flaked! So I'm going to take it down to the store and see what they'll give me for it. If it's low then I'll just hold onto it and try selling it on CL again. It's an original style cranberry color with the organic sucking pads for the straps.
Don't be surprised if you find yourself playing with it more than than your munchkin does. haha
Oh, man.. that's annoying. And yeah, I hear ya about the just wanting it all out of the house thing.. I'm packing up all of the 3-6 clothes and unwanted stuffed animal gifts.. and then I'll pack up the diapers next once the B4s arrive. Thanks again for help on that one
I love purging stuff, it's such a challenge for me to really evaluate what I need or want over other things!
I also wanted to add, we have a kidkraft kitchen and if yours is anything like ours, have fun putting it together! ;P
Yeah. I'm giving myself an entire afternoon to put it together. lol. I'm really good at putting things together so hopefully that will work in my favor but everyone agrees they're a PITA to put together.
I hope you like them! DS has outgrown them now but they were one of the last to fit. I have an oversized B4 that I loooooove thanks to another bumpie.
At least the instructions weren't bad, it was just a LOT of pieces! BUT it has held up really well, even though the kids are always slamming the doors. One door doesn't latch anymore but hey, it's still in one piece!
That has been how I have been feeling, but IKEA is opening in Denver in the fall! That will be my closest one, but so much closer for you! DH and I are already planning a weekend getaway for when it opens
