Does anyone have an ob/gyn recommendation in the Fairfax area? Thanks in advance. Ideally I'm looking for someone with good office hours (i.e. also late afternoon).

Highly recommended! They were recommended to me by my long time gyn (he dropped the OB part of his practice a few years ago). They made me feel comfortable the whole time I was pregnant. They listen to and also go on their instincts and many years of practice. Dr. Gupal knew my LO was going to be long and skinny - making me feel ready to pop come month 7/8 They also knew I wanted a natural birth, but based on my labor progression and my LO's vital signs they thought it best to do a C-Section. Dr. Wartheime (SP??) was right on - if it wasn't for him making that decision, I would have had an emergency C-Section because my LO had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck 4 times (a first for him and everyone else in the OR). Although I LOVE my GYN, I liked them so much that I'm sticking with this practice rather than going back to my GYN - makes sense since we plan on having more children in the future. Hope this helps!
I also love greenbriar but I can tell you they do not have late afternoon hours. They do have some at 8ish or so in the morning but i want to say 330ish may be the latest.....
THey handled my m/c and then my pregnancy with my son! I love all the dr's there but Dr pickford is my fav:-)
I recommend them solely from the gyn perspective. I am high risk and got referred out for our ob needs. I don't know what their actual policy is, but I have type 1 diabetes and was refered to perinatal associates - which is also good.
I'm another Greenbriar girl...I had a wonderful experience with all the docs, they were quite understanding of all of my anxiety and helped me every step of the way. Dr. W delivered DS, but yes, I too love Dr. Pickford. From my experience 3:30 is the latest appointment, which is definitely a bit of a pain, but worth it to me!
Dr. Pickford delivered both kids. I've been with Greenbriar since '98 (ie way before the thought of kids in my head). Yes 3:30 is the latest appt., and they are half days on Wed or Fri (can't remember). But everyone is great - the staff has always been helpful for whatever question, including helping me get insurance coverage for the RE.
I go to Capital Women's Care at 123 and Route 50. I've seen most of the doctors there and like them all. The nurses and receptionists are helpful as well. Not sure what you consider late, but they're open until 5:00 p.m. I've never had a problem getting an appointment or had a long wait.

I LOVED Dr. James Kacedan in Fairfax City. All of his staff were wonderful. I felt like we were family. I tend to prefer woman doctors but now I wish Dr. Kacedan could be my doctor for everything! He has wonderful bedside manner. He also has exceptional sonogram capabilities on site. It was helpful having it readily available if there were any concerns.

Another vote here for Greenbriar!
I used Dr. Forrest and Dr. Allen. LOVED them both!!!!! Funny enough, I have three other friends that use them too.https://www.drsallenandforrest.com/DrAllen.htm
