What you do on Sundays?

I was thinking this morning and realized Sunday is our most routine day of the week. We usually stay home, I do laundry and some cleaning. DH does homework and chores, and sometimes we do family dinners. Mostly it's a quiet, lazy day at home (which I love). What do you and your family do on Sunday?

  • baseball, laundry, church, chores, errands, whatever didn't get done Saturday, get ready for the upcoming week....lately I've been taking a nap sometime during the day - and then usually topped off by dinner with the in-laws.  Yay for not cooking, boo for tense company.

Today we're cooking and meal planning in addition to the above.

We have a little bit of a routine. I usually get to sleep in on Sundays (N sleeps in on Saturdays), then N takes Maxwellington to his parents house. Sometimes, I go with him, but sometimes I use it as an excuse to stay at home and get some me time. Then, we have Sunday night dinner with my family (mom, dad, brother, SIL, and nephew).

  • Clean, meal shop, wash, all the fun household chores that get neglected all week. Homework for the boys too. Can't forget that.

We always eat Sunday dinner together. It is the one day we can count on.

  • Church, Brunch or Lunch depending on the service we go to, swim lessons or baseball game (Rainiers) then dinner with the in-laws.

  • No big routine at our house. Usually I run out and do some couponing without the boys, maybe a load of clothes for dh's work uniform, change sheets on all beds.  Nothing exciting. Today I spend about an hour watching M ride his bike (no training wheels!) around the culdesac while I went through some magazines I hadn't looked at.

  • Sounds like most of you are waaay more active than we are. I love lazy Sundays!

  • We're usually super lazy on Sunday's too! Maybe a little cleaning, but other than that we just hang out and relax. DH gets all his play time in with Ella on the weekends, so we don't usually do too much. Once it's warm though, I'm sure beach trips and park trips will be on the schedule!

  • Sunday is usually our more active day. Saturdays are when we veg more after a long work week. Today we went to brunch (I love you Chaco Canyon and your play area), drove a friend to the airport, kiddo nap (3 hrs, yes!), a little afternoon delight, laundry, magazines, early dinner at 3pm 'cause that's when I felt like cooking it (maybe have some cereal later on) ... and now... some playing in the yard, BusyTown Mysteries, coloring...not much!
  • We definitely have a routine Sundays too!

DH works early. K and I go to church, then to meet DH at his work to bring him lunch, then to grocery shop together.  We come home, I unload groceries as K naps, and DH's mom comes over.  DH gets off early and we usually have a nice dinner and hang out with his mom [or, lately, she hangs out with K as DH and I get all our projects done on the house].

  • Work. Unless I have the day off (rare) and we do something as a family. Beach, park, trip to the lake...etc.

  • We have kids - NONE of our days are lazy - Lazy Sundays are a thing of the past.

Even if it's just laundry and cleaning, it's still trying to keep them entertained , and hearing them whine, feeding them all three meals (and hearing them whine abuot that too) and even if we're "at home" it's just go go go.

What is this Lazy Sunday thing you talk about?  I have a vague memory of it before children.
