Hopeful for VBAC ahead of my scheduled c-section :(

Has anyone else had to schedule a c-section (for a few reasons) although you and your care providers were still hopeful for a VBAC? This feels so odd: I have an appointment on Wednesday, and if I'm 3-4 cm they'll induce with the plan for a VBAC. If I'm still only 1-2 or less, then I have to go through with my now-scheduled c-section at 1pm on Thursday. I'm feeling the pressure! (And no, not the pressure I'd LIKE to feel - but pressure of the emotional sort.) It's like I'm being set up for failure!

    I have not dealt with this, but I am sorry you are having to deal with so much so close to your babies birth. 

    Why is your c-section date this Wed?  I hope you go into labor on your own before you are forced into another c/s!

    Is there a medical reason you have to have a c-section by Thursday?

    If not, it sounds like they are giving you specific parameters to make it seem like they're supportive of VBAC, but aren't when it comes down to it (this is only if there's not a medical reason!!).

    I'm sorry to hear that!  Why do they want to either induce or do a c-section right now?  Did they have an earlyish limit to how far they were comfortable with you going?  I have always heard that the labor your baby/body starts on its own is the easiest...I don't know personally yet because I was induced with #1.

    The reason I'm scheduled for an early c-section is because a soft marker showed up on a very early ultrasound (and others along the way), which is why they don't want to allow me to pass my due date - issues include "failure to thrive" and others. Also complicating things is that my due date lands ON Memorial Day, a day during which our hospital won't schedule any c-sections. Thursday was the "latest" they could schedule me in ahead of the holiday weekend. Things are just not going my way. Looks like I have a lot of walking in my future, at least for the next 3 days!

    Oh, that does sound stressful! Sorry for being nosy :). I really hope you go into labor on your own - good luck!!

    Yes, i was told by my midwife i had a 90% chance for a vbac but just incase i still had to schedule my c section it was scheduled at 41 weeks and 3 days. i already had my baby last mon rcs 39 weeks i didnt even go into labor but had gestational hypertension so they wanted to do a RCS because my BP was high. my midwife was very supportive the entire team but it was just a sudden unexpected change at a doc visit. i couldnt be induced because my cervix was high and just a fingertip and it was too risky to have a trial of labor with my BP. but i hope you dialate more and get your vbac!

    Yes. I'm scheduled to have a RCS the day before my EDD. Its very frustrating because I want so bad to have this VBAC. I had a C/S with DS because he was too big to fit through my small pelvis. It doesn't help any that my dr is unsupportive of me having a VBAC. I mean he'll let me do it if I can do it before the C/S he has scheduled. Its annoying. Hope you get your VBAC!!
