We add about 3 drops to every bottle. DS had terrible gas issues and they helped tremendously so now we swear by them. We use the Target generic drops.
Both, although I'm not sure they really work at all. She still can get pretty twisted up w/ gas. I think it's more effective in the bottle, but I could be imagining that.
Grip water has been more effective, she generally has a BM about twenty minutes after a bottle w/ it in there, and that gives her a lot of relief.
I think it works better straight up. I used to give it to her on the rocks, but it didn't seem to work as well or as fast. They do help her break up all the gas though! I would die without them!

we put a finger in his mouth and put the dropper in on the side of it while he's sucking.... works great for us since the only bottle he gets is at 1am usually.
We just squirt the drops in her mouth, aiming for the side of her cheek. I think she likes the way they taste because she always smacks her lips after.
