AW Can't stop peeing...on a stick haha

Anyone else did this? Last month I had a chemical so of course I am scared. I got a positive on CD 12 and CD 13, then on CD 15 it was negative. The lines were super faint you really had to look to see the line (but the digi said pregnant).

This go around I took it yesterday at CD 13 and today CD 14. Both positive with a visible (both today and yesterday are exact same in darkness). They are obviously a positive but still much lighter then the control line. I am wondering if it will get darker or as dark as the control line. So far not though. Hopefully my hcg levels are doubling. I am going to make myself crazy if I keep this up.

Does it get darker, or is it supposed to?

I use the wondfo tests with the pink handle (which states to wait until the day after your missed period to test...oops!)

Last month I did not get a positive on that test at all (not even faint).

  • With pregnancy tests, it makes no difference how dark the line is.  As long as a line is there, even if it is faint, the test is positive.

    Don't drive yourself crazy!

The darkness of the line doesn't matter at all and has nothing to do with how much HCG you have. Some lines are barely visable at 8 weeks, and some are darker than the control line. If there's a line, you're pregnant, and that's all there is to it.

Quit testing and just be excited! Wink

  • Step away from the pee sticks;)

I definitely tested for a few days after the BFP because I wasn't convinced that I was still pregnant.  I'm now trying to just relax  and enjoy it and I have my first ultrasound Tuesday so I'm hoping that will help me feel a little better.

  • Hey Becca! I'm lurking. :)

Yes, they should get darker, in my opinion.

I use FRER and I have seen the test line WAY darker than the control line (usually for me at >15 DPO).

As you know, I had two c/p too, and never saw the line get darker and it went negative two days later. With my take-home babies, the line got darker but usually you had to compare like 13 DPO with 15 DPO to see a difference (like more than 1 day in between).

But YAY for you being pregnant!!!!

I sort of disagree here. The lines do measure (sort of) how much HCG you have. The more you have, the darker it will be.

  • I can totally relate!  I am obsessed.  I did 2 digitals originally.  Now every few days I pee on one of my digital ovulation sticks, which read a happy face.  It gives me peace of mind so I continue.  Hopefully after this beta that I took this morning comes back I will feel reassured enough to stop, but no guarantees.
  • I just can't stop peeing. period. Seriously multiple times an hour!!

Yes, I've been doing this! But only because I have stockpile of Internet cheapies to use up. My line is darker than it was at first, but you are a little earlier than me. I think I'll stop once I get my third beta done on Tuesday.

  • I have to confess I've been peeing on sticks ever since getting my BFP. 6 internet cheapies, 1 digital, and countless OPKs. I know it's madness but I can't help myself. The day I got my BFP I had just gotten my internet cheapies in the mail so I have plenty to spare. The main reason I do it is because I am one of those with no symptoms other than occasional cramps and exhaustion. The lines have gotten consistently darker for me and on the OPKs the test line is way darker than the control line. Once I have my ultrasound on the 31st though I vow to give it a rest!

I'm right with ya!  This was our first month trying....it took us 11 months with our first so I got a nice order of the cheap internet test and the first response ovulation predictor machine to be all prepared for a long road and go figure BFP first cycle trying.  So exciting!! So I just POAS because they are there and I can. Smile I showed my husband the test this morning and hes like "let me guess, you are pregnant?!" I got a positive 9dpo it was super faint now at 15dpo its just as dark as the control line.

I phrased my response wrong. I guess what I meant to say is that tests don't measure HOW pregnant you are, just that you ARE pregnant. It's 100% normal to have very light lines throughout a healthy pregnancy depending on how much dye is in the test and how sensitive a test is. Along those same lines - a very early or very dark test can not tell you if you're having multiples. KWIM?
