3rd C/S, Everything went great!
I don't post much but I had such a good experience I wanted to share!
I had an unplanned c/s with my first and then scheduled c/s for both #2 and #3. This time around was the ideal experience...surgery was planned for 1PM on 5/19, my anesthesiologist was amazing. The IV hurt worse than the spinal, within the hour they were working to get the baby out. He arrived about an hour later, screeching his way into the world! He was perfect! Just over 8lbs and 21.5" long with a HUGE head..I was able to snuggle him pretty much right away while they stitched me up...my husband was with him the whole time and took pics and brought them to me so I could see everything going on. I was taken to recovery and able to nurse right away...then we were wheeled to our room. I was out of bed and showered by 11AM the next morning and felt GREAT. My recovery is going even better than expected. I'm relaxing as much as possible and he's a fantastic eater and sleeper...couldn't have asked for a better experience. (and after seeing the size of that head, I'm VERY happy with my choice not to try for a VBAC! Doc said it never would have worked due to my small pelvis)
I have minimal swelling, my appetite is normal and my belly is nearly flat. So for all the mama's who had unplanned c/s, there is hope for a good experience the next time!
