May 2011 Moms

She slept last night. Finally.

After trying numerous other things to get Gabriella to sleep in her bassinet by our bed at night, we decided to keep her up in the evening in hopes of tiring her out for bed time. It worked! She was completely out last night from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., only waking up for diaper changes or to breastfeed.

Last night was absolutely amazing. After getting little to no sleep the last week and a half and rotating sleeping shifts with DH, today is a great day.

  • I'm so glad for you! And admittedly a little jealous :)
We try to keep Claire awake, but it's been nearly impossible. So glad you found something to work for her.
Here's hoping for another good night tonight! Good luck!

She sleeps so much I almost worry about her!! She's usually awake for about 2 hours in the morning, an hour for a couple times in the afternoon, and then an hour or two total in the evening. And there is no waking her up! We saw the pedi on Thursday and I was telling him how hard it is for me to wake her up to even eat. He tried to do her eye exam and said he could see my problem - he had to pry her eyes open to do the exam because nothing would wake her up! Is this normal?!? She sleeps like a rockstar...just not where she should at night. She's still refusing the bassinet and I'm in the recliner with her all night. I miss my bed!

It's hard to keep Gabriella awake, too. I feel like if she's awake, she's throwing a fit or something. It's rare that she's awake and alert without crying.

Thanks. I'm not holding my breath for tonight but I'm hoping!

That's a cute pic of Claire in your siggy! It looks like she's smiling.
