I had a c-section with my twins 6.5 years ago. The reason for the c-section was because one of my twins heart stopped. The OB didn't know why and they wanted to get my other twin out as quick as possible before anything happened to him. Medically, I was healthy and had a healthy pregnancy.
19 months after that I gave birth to my dd. I was going to try for a vbac, but at the last minute I got so scared of something happening to her. I was very emotional from my son being stillborn that I just wanted her out.
Now 5 years later I am pg again and have always wanted the experience of labor. I would love to be able to have a "normal" delivery where I can go into labor, it isn't scheduled and I experience everything.
Is it possible to have a vbac after having 2 c-sections? Or am I bound to having another c-sections?
Re: Possible to have VBAC after 2 c-sections?
Yes it is possible. Last summer ACOG revised their VBAC guidelines to say that VBA2C was a safe option for many women. There are studies on VBA2C showing that overall it is safe and many women will be able to deliver vaginally. This is assuming both your c-sections were horizontal incisions.
You may have some trouble finding a provider that will do a VBA2C however. They are out there but you may have to look around and unfortunately not every area will have someone willing to do them. Hopefully you can find someone!
