So the baby has been diagnosed w/ asymmetric growth restriction. I went for a NST and he did wonderfully, unfortunately my OB wasn't on call this weekend so I have to wait until Monday to see what they are going to decide to do. I'm a nervous wreck, and am just praying that he comes out healthy.
My DH isn't taking the news so well. He is upset, and looking for someone to blame, and that person is me. He feels that somehow this is my fault.
Anyone else diagnosed w/ IUGR?
Re: IUGR
My 2 youngest boys both had IUGR. See ticker for when they were born and weight. The littlest one spent 5 days in the hospital to put his BW back on. My preemie sent no extra time in the hospital.
Both caught up in no time. And actually the smallest of the two just got Dx as being obese
How much are they saying LO weighs?
IUGR is not your fault!!!!!!!!
Tell DH to look it up and to man up!
I am sorry. My DD had IUGR and had to be delivered at 35 weeks, she was in NICU for 16 days. How far behind is your baby measuring?
I am sure OB will want to induce on Monday if I had to guess. Good Luck and keep us posted!
We had IUGR, with baby estimated at 5lbs at 37w (3-5%). We induced at 37w6d, and Caitlin was born perfect at 4lb15oz, 18in. She had jaundice, easily treated, and a bit of reflux, which many babies do and is easily managed. She still tracks in the 10% for growth, but otherwise she's very healthy...just my peanut.
IUGR of course is not your fault - we had our ultrasound on a whim when the doc offered and only found it then because everything else was otherwise looking great.
