Two Under 2

baby jogger city double - basket ?

i always see rave reviews on here for the baby jogger city mini double. i hate my travel system and purchased the regular bj city mini for use for my DD and i really like it -- except the basket under the seat. I find it impossible to get anything in or out of it. I have looked at the double and it seems to have a similar basket. I havent really seen complaints about this so just wondering if Im missing something.

Im trying to decide between the bj city mini double and the bumbleride indie twin which I still havent seen in person yet.

I thought the same thing for the City Mini Double - basket seemed really hard to get to and small...but I didn't think the basket on the Indie Twin was all that better.  Granted, I was looking at the 2010 model but I'm curious to see what actual owners of each have to say!

For what it's worth, the City Select's basket is huge and super easy to get to...but I'm more interested in the side by side strollers....

  • The basket on my double is definitely harder to get to than the single, but I've been very happy with the BJ City Mini brand in general, so I'm willing to compromise on the basket for a stroller I know will handle well, have a small footprint, fold up flat, etc.

  • When we got the city mini double in the mail I was expecting the basket to be horrible. It's actually not that bad. I wouldn't put my diaper bag down there but it's a great basket for jackets, blankets, or shopping bags. I have the 2010 version if that makes a difference.

This and it fits in the trunk of my civic which many doubles wouldn't do! I LOVE the SBS and love the stroller in general, great for the price. The basket does suck IMO but I plan to get a mom hook and use that for my small diaper bag. It's great for jackets and blankets. I keep my moby in there while we're out in case DS gets cranky. I wish the basket was better but overall it's a great stroller and the pluses outweigh the negatives IMO.

  • The basket isn't so bad, once you learn to work with it. There is also a large mesh storage area on the back of each seat. The key is to place your stuff in the basket before you load your kids in the seat. I found it easier to pack things in multiple small bags or place loose items in the basket rather than shoving my whole diaper bag in there. I usually put things under the seats that I probably won't need, but have to have on me just in case (change of clothes, etc). I put things I know I'm going to need behind the seats (diapers, wipes, snacks). I now have a mommy hook and often just hang my tote from the handle bar.
