Thanks so much everyone for all the help so far. I usually have a regular cycle but I have noticed some are not as slam dunk, so I am trying to figure this out exactly.
So, how can you know exactly which day you ovulate? Is temperature the only way? I am supposed to start my progesterone three days post O. I usually ovulate on day 14 ish, but i am not sure it's a sure thing. Like this cycle I am already day 32 and no AF, very unusual for me I poas'd multiple times and they are all neg.

But those tell you the fertile days which are typically before ovulation, aren't they? I think I need to try the temps again. I once tried it and it was all over the map. but I will get a better thermometer maybe. Thanks

Quite frankly, I temped, and used a CBEFM. CBEFM was SO much more accurate than temping. I could never see a clear temp drop after O.
Of course you can temp, check cervical mucous and position on your own. All those factors will get you a much clearer picture, but that was a bit more than I was interested in doing. CBEFM was fine for me. Clearly we had other issues, but I found it a lot more consistent and accurate.

The most important thing with temping is to a) make sure you've been asleep for at least 3 hours before you take it and b) taking it before you even get out of the covers. I couldn't manage that, especially since K wasn't STTN, so I used the CBEFM and it worked great for me for that purpose -- much less guesswork.
Like I said, there's no way to know the exact day w/o u/s. I think the monitor is as good an approximation as you'll get.

Yes that was the problem, since I get up at night to go to the bathroom or drink water or whatever, I rarely had that three hour chunk of time. I did read TCOYF. My mucus doesn't come down on the fertile days, it comes down later. It almost never correlates with the positive ovulation tests. I just bought the CBFM. I hope it helps me figure out the cycle, but right now I am pretty confused. I guess it would help if I was willing to shell out for the RE. My doctor had told me I could stop doing the OPK's since I was pretty regular but I restarted just to make sure and never got a smiley face for a cycle or two. I also had that BFP two months ago so it may be that things don't reset right away? who knows!
Interesting. I wonder if the exogenous hormones throw off the readings.
