Does anyone know if you are already dilating (2 cm) and go with the induction if they start off with prostagladin gel or go straight to pitocin or breaking water

    Depends on a variety of factors, including baby's position/station (ie if baby has dropped) and your OB.  Can't give you any definitive answers.

    I wasn't induced, but I had asked my Dr. this question and she said if I was at a 3 or 4 they would start with Pitocin but anything less they would probably use the prostagladin. Like PP said, it is probably depends on your exact situation.

    I'm 2 cm and getting induced... they said because the baby is so low and my cervix is favorable - they are breaking my water and giving pitocin... and i should be on my way.
