How much weight have you lost since giving birth?

I'm just curious what's typical.

It's been 9 days since I gave birth and I've lost 18 lbs. so far. Eight pounds of that was the baby, of course. I'm breastfeeding but I had to quit working out every day after giving birth because of my third degree tear so I figured I would be slow to lose the weight.

  • I'm down about 18 pounds. It comes off pretty quick -- at least it did with my first. BFing really, really, really helps.

    about 15 lbs (gained 30).  I have stayed there the past 5 days.  though I am eating like crap right now (grabbing what I can when I can).  I did out of curiosity weigh myself before and after pumping....I lost 1.5 lbs just doing that!

  • I was down 15lbs on the day I left the hospital. I gained 28 total. I don't own a scale so I have no idea how much more, if any, I've lost. I will find out at my 6 week PP appointment in June.

  • 23 pounds. I'm hoping to lose more once the doc gives me the go ahead. I don't feel like I can't work out now but I want to heal really well. Just two more weeks.

  • I've lost 13 so far. I gave birth only alittle over a week ago. So all in all I am satisfied.

  • Just got back from my 2 week post op check up - lost all 25lbs I gained during pregnancy.  I am still swollen from the IV fluids, so hopefully now that I am released to start lightly working out again I will lose more! Oh and I am pumping, so I guess that is helping things along, too!

  • Ugh! Not enough! I gained a total of 45 lbs, and have lost 20 so far. Ideally, I want to lose 30 more. I have been walking and doing some stretching and some exercising, but no weight loss yet. I'm not BFing, so it's going to be a long battle....
  • I'm 11 days PP and lost 20lbs, he was only 6 lbs 4 oz when born so I'm happy. I had a c section so I have to wait a bit before I can work out which sucks because I can't wait to go running.

  • I don't know, nor I want to know yet.  It's been a week.  

    But at least I can see my toes right?  And my belly has gone down dramatically...Weeeeeee!

  • 21 lbs so far. I gave birth last Saturday, so it will have been a week as of tomorrow, and I am breastfeeding. I expect my weightloss to slow down soon though, but it is nice to see the scale change. :)

  • Beau is 15 days old. I'm down to 123 from 139. Most of it came off the first week. I still have 11-12 pounds until I'm back to pp weight, but I don't anticipate losing it all quickly.  Bfing and formula supplementing.  
  • I've lost 24lbs so far only 8lbs more to go until I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight

  • I started at 124.5 and today I was 126 half way thru the day. I gained about 20 lbs. Not breast reding this time. Still lots of toning to be done

  • 17 lb so far; 8 to go to pre-pg weight.

    It's been coming off about a pound a day, so far. I was pretty bloated after the birth. I've started walking a little, but I also had a 3rd degree tear so I need to take some time to heal. 

  • Last I weighed which was 5 days ago was 20 lbs.  Still have 10 to go, but I feel like I'm still a long ways away from the way I looked pre-preg.  I have a lot of toning to do!  :)
  • I'm not sure. I haven't weighed myself since giving birth. I never got on a scale before I got pregnant, so I'm trying not to now... I try not to obsess over numbers and instead just care about the way I look. I gained 30lbs when I was pregnant and would guess I have about 7 or 8 more to lose. I'm currently up a pant size, so I'll start exercising as soon as my tear is healed to get back in my PP jeans.

  • I lost 27 in the first two weeks. I don't know what I'm at right now.

  • 20 lbs in (8) days. As soon as my second degree tear heals, I'll be able to start working out again. For now I'm just taking slow walks.

  • I am 5 days PP and have lost 26lbs already. Granted, DD was 9lbs 8oz and I had a lot of amniotic fluid. I also got on the scale today because the swelling in myy feet and ankles is down yet my milk is just coming in. It is also worth mentioning that I have had zero appetite since giving birth an struggle to force feed myself. About 25lbs to go, but my pre-preg weight was about 20+ than what I want to be.

  • I lost all the baby weight and about 5 additional pounds within the first 2 weeks...about 30 in total. I haven't lost much more since, but I haven't started working out yet either - my episiotomy is STILL healing. I am bfing (or pumping, rather).

  • I have lost 34 pounds in 10 days. I have about 10 pounds left to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. I am still carrying a lot of water in my feet and hands, which I am hoping will come off quickly. I still have a lot of pre-pregnancy weight to work off.

  • 15 lbs so far, but I am still swollen so hoping a few moe will come off when that goes away. Gained about 27 lbs total. I am hoping it comes off as easy as it did with me dd, but I have heard second pregnancies are harder to loose the weight.
