Interesting...re: Tylenol

I dont know anything about this site, or its credibility. But makes sense to me, at least in my experience Tylenol didnt do anything, but Ibprofen has! We also have never dealt with a fever before though...

  • I don't get it.  I mean, when I take tylenol, it relieves pain.  I would wonder about the credibility of the study...?

  • Hmmm... that is interesting. I also think it's weird that adults take tylenol to relieve pain, so why wouldn't it work on babies. However, I can agree that Ibuprophen works way better for Ella than Tylenol when she is teething... with fevers we rotate between both.

  • Acetaminophen  has never done a damn thing for me pain-wise.  So, personally, I'm not surprised.  Obviously it works for some people though, so maybe it's just because of the lessened concentration / dosage in the children's version. We've found it very effective for reducing L's fevers, so we only use it for that.  But it's ibuprofen all the way when she's teething.

  • Medications seem to work differently in young children than adults. Remember all the cough and cold remedies that they discontinued? It was mostly because none of them worked!

I was going to say that too... it's weird that they say that stuff didn't work for kids.  It would be interesting to know why.

In my experience tylenol does well for fevers but not for teething... I tend to alternate them when they're really sick.
