So, I got a call from my doctor's office to let me know that I failed the one hour. I shouldn't be surprised, since I eat a lot of carbs to deal with my crappy stomach. As I'm on the phone talking to my father about it, he tells me that my 95 year old Holocaust surviving grandfather is in the hospital for congestive heart failure in Miami.

I can't travel anymore due to swelling and stomach issues, and I am just heartbroken about it. Why does this have to happen to my mother (her father) now? Why does this have to happen to him at all? Can't he just be one of those people who lives until they are 115? Why is that too much to ask?

I hate death. And glucose drinks. Most of all I hate that my Zadie is in pain.

Aw I'm sorry that you failed the test and that you can't visit your grandfather. It is so hard to deal with death in any case, but not being able to be there for support must be very difficult for you. Left Hug

I am so sorry for all of the bad news you're receiving. I don't know the specifics of your grandfather's condition but I treat people in the hospital for congestive heart failure every day. The name sounds terrible but it is actually very responsive to therapy most of the time. I've even treated 104 year old woman and discharged her home within 4 days. Obviously, everyone is different and I don't know the severity of his heart failure but Im sure he's in good hands. Miami has great doctors. I hope this gives you some comfort.
