So, I went from nothing at my last appointment to over 3 cm. dialted at this appointment yesterday. My DD is breech, so a c/s has been scheduled for Wed for a while now. Just curious as to how far along (dilation wise) you were if your waters broke. My doctor told me if it breaks to immediately head to the hospital so I can get the epidural in time to be awake for the procedure. I can feel that she has dropped a bit, but I'm hoping that she holds out so that getting DS situated in the middle of the mad rush wont freak him out. For some reason I had this idea in my head that there was a very small chance that my water would break and I would not have to think about this. If she was not breech I would not be so concerned, but I know there are some risks if she comes too fast after it breaks.

Re: Planned c/s moms whose waters broke???
I think your water can break at any dilation, even closed, but I wanted to say that my sister's water broke at 38 weeks and her baby was breech. She actually waited a couple hours, because she really wanted the vbac. By the time she got to the hospital, the baby had begun to turn and was transverse (they still did the c/s and she was given a spinal). They often turn once you are in labor.
I just wanted you to know not to freak out and rush around madly if it does happen!
This c/s was not planned but it was my second one.
When my water broke, I was a fingertip dilated. We waited 26 hours for labor to start, I never got so much as a twinge.
Mine broke and I was only fingertip dilated too. Mine broke 10 hours before my scheduled c-section and she was born 2 hours after the waters broke.
Good luck!
