If you are BFing your 2nd (or more)

When did you get your first PP period with your first?  And how about your 2nd +?

I didn't get my period until 2 weeks after I weaned DS1 at ~9 months, even though he had been STTN since 2 months.  My OB said it should be fairly safe to assume the same will happen this time, but I was just curious what others experiences have been.  TIA!

  • I didn't get my period with my son till he was 10 months old, and then I got pregnant immediately  I was still nursing when I got my first period.

My daughter is now 7 months, and I haven't gotten my period.  I also have an IUD, which might be helping contribute to not getting it.

  • I got my first period at 7 mo while EBFing DD1.  With DD2, I didn't get it until 10 mos.  I didn't do anything differently.
  • I didn't get mine until 10 months with DS.  Still no where in sight with DD.  I'm hoping I'm as lucky this time around too!

  • My cycles came back around 3-4 months pp with DD1. Around 2-3 months pp with DD2. When they came back they were regular and about the same length. I didn't get much of a break at all, although I EBF'd, never supplemented, DD1 didn't take a paci, etc.

I started the mini-pill both times and that seemed to jump-start things. Although I was able to use it for a year+ after DD1, after DD2 it caused constant spotting and I had to go off.

Judging from how fast my cycles come back, my body apparently thinks it can handle two under one. I beg to differ. :P

  • #1- 2.5 months PP

#2- 5 weeks PP. Literally the day my PP bleeding stopped. It's been regular ever since.

Evidently my body thinks I should just keep making babies.
