Swimming vests question

What do you use on LO for a swim vest/cover? Derek is only 23 lbs and I know he isn't ready for water wings yet but he's also too old for the little floats I think. I've looked at some vests but most of them are for kids who weigh more than he does.

    I never had any luck with the swimmy vests.  I always felt like they made them tip forward and be super unsteady in the water. My kids have late summer birthdays and both started swimming lessons in the spring before they turned 3.  Tess has only had 1 water safety lesson this year but we're going to take a few private lessons in a few weeks. 

    I did have one similar to this last summer when Tess was about 20 mos but I did not like it at all. image

    Ethan wore the "puddle jumper" posted above last summer, and he liked it...however, it does take some playing with it to get it to fit right.  He's going to have to keep wearing it for the next few weeks till we have the boys swim lessons, then I'll decide if he can go without (probably not when it's just me at the pool with all 3 kids).
