My best friend was just put on complete bedrest - she is 30 weeks with twins. She started having contractions the other day. If you were on complete bedrest, how did you manage during the day when you were home alone? She has already had to get up more times then her dr would like.
Re: Complete bedrest - how do you do it?
Complete bedrest is different for everyone... did her Dr give her specific restrictions? For example, I am allowed to go to the bathroom, shower, & make a sandwich. So pretty much I'm not supposed to be on my feet more than 15 minutes or so.
I'm assuming her Dr is allowing her to use the bathroom? She may have to take a bath instead of a shower and only bathe every few days. Her husband may have to pack her a cooler of food and leave it next to the bed (or couch)...
It gets extremely boring. I spend a lot of time online, watching tv, reading, etc. Anything to pass the time until DH gets home & I have someone to talk to.
I got groceries delivered.
DH made me lunch and dinner nightly for the next day that I could just quickly microwave. (DH works 70+ hrs a week)
Breakfast was always cold cereal b/c its quick so I could be on my feet less than 5 mins.
DH would put a pitcher of juice and one of water along with some ice by my bed in the morning before he left.
Scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting, hand sewing... Making things for the baby is a good way to pass the time.
