thrush and clotrimazole

Has anyone had clotrimazole prescribed by the pedi  for baby and you?  We are supposed to apply to nips and his mouth every 3hrs after feeds 5x in one day.  We just finished our last application, but he still has spots in his mouth/my boobs are still tender.  Should this be gone by now or will it take a while?

There's also still a ton of the ointment left in the little tub the pharmacist mixed it in--do you think I didn't put enough on?  LO was trying to swallow it every time I put it on, so I didn't want to put tons in his mouth...  DH said to put it on one more time, but I'm not so sure.

    I'd call the pedi just to be sure.

    We're just healing up from thrush.  I was instructed to apply clotrimazole to my nipples after each feeding (but to wash it off before I latched him on).  The pedi prescribed nystatin for the baby's mouth.  I applied it with a q-tip after every feeding to the white spots and they disappeared in a couple days.
