It's all in the wording...

Usually when people ask when I'm due, I say July 4th, or beginning of July. Then they respond with "YOU'RE HUGE! How will you make it til then?!" or some other annoying response. Yesterday someone asked and I said "6 or so weeks", and got "But you're so small! How can you be due in 6 weeks?!" I did this the rest of the day when people asked and only got responses on how great I looked..LOL What an ego boost!

So the moral of the story is..July seems way further away than it actually is, and people are bad at math. Stick out tongue

    that's funny!  i told the lady at the health food store 2 weeks ago i was due june 20.  she says " are you going to make it?  you look ready now!".  and then yesterday at chiropractor i told receptionist i had 5 weeks left.  she said" you look small!"  so nice to hear.  i will definitely be telling people weeks from now on!

    Good to know! I am getting the same response when I say beginning of August, so will make the switch and hopefully want to flick people's foreheads less.

    DH has a lot of work to get done on the house before LO arrives and is feeling kind of overwhelmed, so I've learned to always refer to my due date as "the end of July" (July 21) instead of saying anything about how many weeks we have left because it sounds like it is so much sooner and changes frequently. It's helped his anxiety a bit. Big Smile

    This must be a universal thing, because this same thing has happened to me!!  7 weeks left, for some reason, sounds so much sooner to most people than "at the beginning of July"...LOL..Crazy people..
