Usually when people ask when I'm due, I say July 4th, or beginning of July. Then they respond with "YOU'RE HUGE! How will you make it til then?!" or some other annoying response. Yesterday someone asked and I said "6 or so weeks", and got "But you're so small! How can you be due in 6 weeks?!" I did this the rest of the day when people asked and only got responses on how great I looked..LOL What an ego boost!
So the moral of the story is..July seems way further away than it actually is, and people are bad at math.
Re: It's all in the wording...
DH has a lot of work to get done on the house before LO arrives and is feeling kind of overwhelmed, so I've learned to always refer to my due date as "the end of July" (July 21) instead of saying anything about how many weeks we have left because it sounds like it is so much sooner and changes frequently. It's helped his anxiety a bit.
This must be a universal thing, because this same thing has happened to me!! 7 weeks left, for some reason, sounds so much sooner to most people than "at the beginning of July"...LOL..Crazy people..
