update: Really?!? It's always something *heard from office*

Well, I will probably be leaving you ladies for good. I had an u/s yesterday afternoon and the tech said she saw an empty gestational sac dating about 4 weeks. Isn't that what they call a blighted ovum (<--self diagnosis of courseEmbarrassed ) I'm waiting to hear from the dr.s office.

Buuuut the most weird/unsettling news was the tech asking me if I had a pelvic kidney. Umm, no/maybe/should I/do I? She ended up doing a t/v and abdominal u/s and told me that my left kidney is in my pelvis! Surprise WTH?!?! Anyone know anything about this? I am trying to avoid Dr. Google while I wait to hear from my doctor. (who I haven't even met yet, ha. I'd just made an initial appt when I started the spotting and such about 3 weeks ago)

Just a quick update on the goings-ons of my random insides.

 

***so I just talked to the nurse. She told me there was an empty sac dating 4 weeks 6days. I already had an appt scheduled for monday with the dr, but the nurse said she won't be ready to talk D & C or anything yet. *sigh "You just never know/we've had slow growers/etc. *sigh again

You'll notice she's said nothing about this kidney thing. That is because there is nothing in the report about it! Really? I am to just talk about it with the dr on Monday and she'll probably send me a formal abdominal scan. I'm so tired.of.the.waiting.

    How far along should you be? Are you about 4-5 weeks? If so, maybe the yolk sac and fetal pole just haven't formed yet.

    Keep us updated on what your Dr. says. I'm sorry you're going through this.

    Were you charting?  I do see you got your BFP a while ago, so you should be a bit farther along, but have they drawn betas?  I really hope LO is just a slow starter...

    wow that's a lot of information to get all at once from your tech.

    Don't let Dr. Google diagnose your kidney situation and wait for the dr to call you back, etc before you start internet searches :)  Not to be a downer but i <self diagnosed> myself with a blighted ovum when I had my m/c.  They never actually said those words but from my own research that's what it looked like I probably had.

    Thank you for the update and I hope things improve drastically for you!!!

    I was charting, but my chart was totally weird looking. I don't know if this will work, but I'll try to link to it here.

    They gave me two codes:

    My LMP was 3/28 and I got my BFP on 4/28 (and 29 because I didn't believe it). My betas have been very low, but continued to have slight rises. I don't know my dpo, but they were (about) 5/3 - 211, 5/5 - 290, 5/12 - 890 and 5/18 16xx.

    Your numbers are the name as mine...so today you'd be 37dpo or 7w2d.  Honestly, with your chart, those beta numbers, and all the rest of the info, I'd say it sound an awful lot like my m/c last cycle.  My betas were alarmingly low (although they were more than doubling), I was spotting, I had 2 ultrasounds and both showed nothing, but I was far enough along that we should have seen something.  Eventually, my betas dropped significantly and the bleeding increased.  I hope this isn't the case for you!  FX!  Please keep us posted. 

    Honestly, as this has been going for about 3 weeks now, this is what I've expected. I actually sighed when she said yesterday that my numbers had gone up. I am just ready for the waiting to be over, get everything done and over with so we can move forward. I'm actually looking at it as God's plan (like I always did) because I wouldn't have known about this kidney thing. So now we focus on this (kidney strangeness) and figure what it means for me healthwise and pregnancy-related.

    I have never heard of the pelvic kidney. I can't help myself and I would google, but go to reputable sites like WebMd.

    I wouldn't worry about the kidney thing.  If it was a serious problem they would have addressed it right away.  So I would try to relax as much as you can.  So sorry to hear about the baby though.  The good news is that you were able to get preg in the first place- that was the one thing that gave me comfort when I went through the same thing.

    I'm really sorry to read your update... I have a uterine malformation called a bicornuate uterus, and it causes many women to have two kidneys...please keep us updated.  You are in my T&Ps.
