Pregnant after a Loss

Confession/AW: I already bought a bed for the nursery

Embarrassed After knowing for less than 24 hours that our baby is a girl I found the perfect antique shabby chic bed at an antique store. I want a twin bed in the nursery for me to sleep in the room with her while baby is up all night, and then of course she can use it when she gets older.

Now to find a crib that matches, can't exactly go antique on cribs...

  • Awesome!! That is such a cute bed and idea. I wish I could do the same but I don't have a huge nursery. My step son has already got the bigger room. That's why I got a bassinet to go next to my bed for now. The nursery will be filled up with his crib, dresser, toys and baskets.

    Beautiful bed!!!

Of course, that set me off to googling cribs...

I don't know what your price range is, but here are some I found that I think might fit your aesthetic (sorry they're not clicky!):

    https://www.bonavita-cribs.com/products/collections/product-collection/francais-collection.html

The Bonavita Francais crib seems to sell for around $600.

    https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Victoria-Drop-Convertible-White/dp/B000VX4QI8

The Graco Victoria is more affordable (under $300), but looks like it comes in pure white as opposed to antique white (not sure if this matters to you).

    https://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/bratt-decor-venetian-iron-crib/?pkey=bcribs

PBK has this iron crib that I LUUUURVE, but it's pricey at $800 (which is a sale price--usually $900).

    https://www.amazon.com/Davinci-Jenny-Lind-Stationary-White/dp/tags-on-product/B002T1HH1I

Finally, the Davinci Jenny Lind is the crib that I really wanted, but no one else liked.  :(  And it's a steal at $150+ (on sale now at WalMart, but can also find other places).

Sorry if this is going overboard, but I love still looking at this stuff!!!  GL with finding the perfect crib...little Winter is so lucky that she's going to have such a beautiful nursery!  :)

I love that bed and the idea.  Our nursery is so tiny a bed and crib won't fit.

Ours is super tiny too. I am really worried they won't both fit. I probably should have measured before I bought the bed, but hopefully it will work.

  • So cute!  I wish the office we will use as a nursery had room for a single bed plus the crib...that would be super convenient.
