And it was pretty awesome! We met at a huge park, so the kids played and we just sat in a circle and talked, it was nice. Out of the 15 ish women that were there, I definetly "clicked" with about 5-6 of them, they had similar interests as me and we just chatted for over an hour. So nice!
PS, Thanks for everyone that encouraged me to go last week
I was really nervous before I went, but I had fun, and am going to another event next week too.
Re: I went to my first MOMS Club today
That's exactly why I didn't like MOMS club. All the kids got shoved into a playroom and all the ladies hovered around the food and beverages and chit-chatted. I was the only one who floated back and forth between the kids and the adults.
Not saying that nobody was supervising your kids today, but the whole sit in a circle and chat thing just really irks me. I guess I just had different expectations of what MOMS was supposed to be like in my area.
Great! I have met so many lifelong friends through my MOMS Club. I now have a group of 5-6 of us that get together almost every day (we actually just all got back from dinner with the kids!) I joined when DS was 4 months old and have been on the Board for 3 years, the last year as President.
For the PP who didn't like that the MOMS Club had the moms hanging out...??? I think that the best part of our Club is the friendships the moms make, and the talks we have. If I just wanted my kid to play while I watched and didn't talk to anyone else I could bring him to the park any time.
I guess it also depends on the age. Your DS is young. For my older two, last summer was great because they didn't require much help on the playground. This summer, all of us Moms will be running, our Moms Club had 9 babies in 2010, so that is 9 toddlers we are chasing!!!
