Brag about your LO

Of course I have a cute story about DD that I want to share:

She's just started counting over 10 - but everything is "eleventeen" or "sixteen" - its like a loop she cannot get out of - it cracks me up!

I can also feel the "why" stage coming.  She watched DH shaving this morning (which she's seen before a million times) but man, she did not stop w/ the questions - "what you doing daddy"  "what that daddy?"  "what THAT daddy"   etc, etc.

now - you go!

Re: Brag about your LO

  • well, I bragged about his love of baseball yesterday, but I have more, lol.

I'm just so proud of how quickly his speech is coming along....it is exploding! He says a new word almost everyday and is stringing a lot of words together. Yesterday for dinner we were having rice and black beans and I gave him a pile of black beans and kind of said under my breath to DH, "hopefully these won't make him poop too much". Well he goes "bean make poop!" followed by a fart sound and omg I almost died. He is such a boy.

  • I'm pretty sure my daughter is actully an 80's queen...  The other night she was singing along to GLORIA...  since she can't actually talk it was more like humming along then yelling "Ahhhhhhh!"  on the Glor-ri-ahhh part.

If the Debbie Gibson/Tiffany concert comes this way I might have to take DD with me!

She is cruising all over and starting to let go when she stands.  So far the longest has been about 5 seconds.  She realized what she was doing and started giggling, so she lost her balance and sat down.  I think walking is very, very close!

Being sick totally derailed our attempt to phase out her bottles.  When she was sick all she wanted was milk.   Poor dear had strep, goo draining from her ear AND a tooth coming in.   She was crying and signing milk...  She kept refusing the cup.and since she wasn't eating food either I relented and gave her back her bottle.

  • I sing the same two songs to J every night before I put him in his crib, Tura Lura Lural and When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, and he stares at me the whole time and after I'm done I ask him to sing to me and he starts humming either one of those to me, it just melts my heart.

  • LO is walking all over the place.  Starting probably about 11mo (and per pedi that was considered walking), but I considered LO walking the day after LO's 1st bday party.  LO is everywhere and practically running.

LO is the most lovey baby ever.  My mom says it all the time.  Always giving hugs, kisses, blowing kisses.  LO is truly a sweet baby.  Rotten, but totally sweet.

LO has been sleeping in the crib for 5 days now!  First night, it was rough, but the 3rd night there was no crying.  The 4th night was messed up because we were at the hospital until 330am and LO stayed at neighbors and last night LO went down AWAKE and no crying!  WOOHOO!!!  I thought it would be so much harder but really it was a breeze.

  • My little guy is crawling! He has been rocking back and forth for the past couple of weeks, and now he has finally figured it out!

He has also starting doing the cutest thing with his nose...he wrinkles it up like a little bunny when he smiles. I think DH taught him how to do it! So cute!

  • I picked DS up from daycare yesterday and he was showing me his school work. As he got to each page he said, "Mommy, did you see what I made? Isn't that sweet?" He is too smart for his own good. He wants to know if everything he does is sweet.

  • Oh Kathryn, how freaking cute.

Annabelle now knows how to say her name. Although instead of saying Annabelle it's more like A-belle, but I'll take it. She also loves to point to Tim and say Daddy, and then points to me and says Mommy. I Love it!

And everything is "no this and no that". I hate that word.

I really love this stage, so is really growing up.

  • The cat was sniffing around one of Evie's toys and she told him "na,na,na No!"  I guess that is how I sound to her.  Embarrassed

That's so funny.  LO has done that for months too.  I say "eh eh eh" and I get a face back and eh eh eh back to me.  I say no and I get a face back and no.  UGH...in for it! It's so stinkin cute though.

  • DS is totally walking and climbing on everything. He climbed to the top of a play structure the other day- he was following DD and I followed him, and then at the top I just made sure he turned around and he went down a fairly huge slide all by himself.  He has ZERO fear.  He did the same thing w/ a smaller play structure @ the playground @ DD's school today and her teacher was kind of shocked- she said something along the lines of- nice catch mom, because I was at the top of the slide while he went down it... oops?

DD is so funny. She does a lot of imaginary play, making up stories w/ dolls & stuffed animals, singing made-up songs, etc. it's really cute. Today I took her to school and she told me exactly the order of how her day was going to go- circle time, a book, singing, then snack, etc.

For both of them- they both show affection to one another now- DD has always given him hugs, kisses, etc. but now DS will go and hug and kiss DD, and once when she was upset, he went over to her and patted her on the back, it was SO sweet.
