I'm a novice runner and want to sign up for my first 5K in September. My question is, are there any limitations I should be aware of if I were to become pregnant. My husband and I are thinking of TTC late summer so there is the chance I could be almost two months pregnant by the time the race came around. Thanks in advance!
Re: Running a 5K While Pregnant?
Good luck! I'm running a 5k in 3 weeks, I'll be 30 weeks pg at that time.
Ditto this. Make sure you're running now, because I wouldn't recommend starting to train for a 5k after you become pregnant. But as long as you're regularly getting in 3 miles, then you should have no problem running a 5k after you're pregnant. (I still do about 2-3 miles a day and more on weekends)
I am still running 3-4 miles several times a week. As long as you are running before you get pg, you are fine (according to docs). Also use common sense like PP said, if you are not feeling good or cramping one day, slow down to a walk. You will be happy if you keep up the running, helps with the weight gain and the delivery!!
