When you take your LOs to the ocean, do you put them in a life jacket of any sort? We are debating whether we need to get one. I don't think we'll be taking Ellie out very deep, and we definitely aren't going to take her out and let go of her, but should we have her in a life jacket or a puddle jumper or something just in case?
Re: Question about kids at the beach
I have to say, I grew up boating... we go almost every weekend during the summer to my parent's boat. I already have two infant life jackets for Cerys for this year (they don't make them small enough for newborns, though).
Growing up around water makes me nervous with little ones, but I can also see if you guys have her hands and are on her like a hawk maybe just letting her have some arm floaties or something?
I am just to weary of water dangers, perhaps. I know I wouldn't be comfortable around water like that with nothing on her. If you do decide to get a life jacket, go for something comfy like neoprene. She can pick out a cute design (they have all sorts of disney, sesame street, etc) and she'll be more likely to wear it and stay in it all day.
Another thought is- do you guys plan on spending all day at the beach every day? Or just going for a few hours? That makes a difference too.
