Hi All,
I'm newly pregnant, due with my second. With my first I saw the doctors at OB-Gyn of NOVA. I like the doctors enough but I wished that they did sonograms in the office rather then having to go somewhere else for one. Does anyone know of an OB that delivers at Alexandria that performs sonograms in the office?
Thanks
Re: INOVA Alexandria- OBs
Thanks for the info. I delivered with them last July and they weren't doing this. It's great to know for my next I'll be able to get a sonogram right in the office.
I love that place.

I am also using Physicians and Midwives Collaborative. I am glad to hear you were happy with them. I am second guessing my decision to use them because I always see a new practitioner and doctor for every appt. When you gave birth did you know the doctor that delivered your baby? Wondering if I might be better off going somewhere that I always see the same OB so I can feel comfortable at the delivery. Any opinions on this matter are welcome!
I had a MW deliver DS and I had just met with her for the first time a week or two beforehand. I tried to meet with most of the MWs so I would at least have met them once.
There are definitely drawbacks to going to a collaborative but with a one-OB practice, you're still not guaranteed to have them deliver since there are vacations, illnesses, etc.
Patrice was the MW that delivered DS and she was amazing. She was with me practically the whole time I was pushing. Our doula even said she was really great and that most Drs won't let you push for 3 hours without intervention like I did with DS. Most OBs are just around to catch the baby.
