Tuesday night I found brownish red blood in my underwear and the past two days my back was killing me. Yesterday I went to work and I had brown spotting all day long and after work I went to the ER. They did an U/S and checked my levels. All the doctor said was it is too early to tell and gave me Rhogam. My HCG levels were 18,292 and I am est to be 6 weeks 2 days pregnant. No blood today but I am still freaking out. I could have sworn I heard the heart beat during the U/S but the doctor denied anything regarding it. I just want a definitive answer. Has anyone else had this problem?
Re: Bleeding at 6 weeks
While I never had any red blood or clots, I did have quite a bit of brown discharge around that same time. Closer to 7 weeks they did an additional beta and a tv ultrasound. Everything looked good and they disregarded it as unexplained bleeding. The spotting stopped about a week and a half later. At 9 weeks we had our scheduled "first" appointment and did a follow up u/s. Everything still looked good and little bean was growing right on schedule!
6w2d is still early to hear a h/b. I'm glad your doctor is being proactive and got you on Rhogam (I'm also Rh negative and they didn't do anything additional because of it. It had me pretty uneasy until the second u/s). Hopefully the bleeding has stopped for you and was a one time incident.
I had a very similar problem and also went to the ER. ?They found out I had a UTI and said that was most likely the cause of the bleeding. ?They would tell me NOTHING about the ultrasound (I also thought I heard a heartbeat) other than "growth seems on track with the bloodwork". ?They diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage and off I went, freaking out mentally. ?I had no spotting after that, but I did have back cramps as I had had the whole week before. ?I followed up two days later for HCG tests which they said were on the low side of normal. ?Once again I felt completely freaked out.
?Let me just say as a side note, your HCG levels are more than twice as high as mine and I was at 6 weeks as well, so that's good!
?Anyway, as instructed I followed up with my newly found OB. ?They let me in at 7 weeks instead of 8 because of the spotting and UTI. ?A transvag-ultrasound was performed and they found a very strong heartbeat and we got to see our little blueberry ^_^ ?After that I felt so much better! ?I'm almost 9 weeks now and everything seems to be normal so I'm trying to not let myself get stressed. ?Sometimes a little bleeding can be normal from everything I've read, but ER's have a way of making us feel worse I think. ?*hugs* ?Hang in there, once you get to your OB they'll give you some definitive results and you'll feel so much better.?
