I'm seeing a group of midwives as my care providers and one of them will catch my baby when she is born. However, it's hospital policy that I have a consult with one of their OBs before my TOLAC. My midwives have told me that the consent form is long and scary and not to feel intimidated by it, but I'm very nervous anyway. They also go over the risks of RCS, but I live in a part of the world that's pretty conservative about birthing practices and I'm afraid that they're going to try to talk me out of my VBAC. Any tips for standing my ground?
Tom's wife, Drew's mama, super cool.

Re: Consult at the hospital tomorrow
Just remember that form you signed for your C-section and epidural/spinal the first time - paralysis, loss of baby, loss of fertility, loss of life, etc, etc. It's just legal CYA crap.
Nod your head, smile, and go on with your plan. Or maybe state upfront, "I've done my homework, the decision is already made, I just need to do this as a formality." The OB will be happy to get back to his/her paying patients.
