when is our next US?

just curious when everyone is having a scheduled Ultrasound...seems like forever now since I got to see my sweet lil girl....20 weeks was our last one! I saw my doc yesterday and totally forgot to ask and cant for the life of me remember from my first pregnancy when I had another after finding out the sex of the baby

Most hospitals only do one at 20 weeks, don't they? I know that's what our typically would do. Dr. did mentioned she wanted us to possibly do another one at 29 - 30 weeks because I have had to be on antibiotics since about 14 weeks and will need to continue to take them. So if your Dr. hasn't said that you need another one, I would be grateful that everything seems like it is going well!

I am not scheduled to have any more unless there's something wrong or something they would like to check. My last u/s with DD was at 20 weeks, unless you count a very quick one I had during labor to double check that she was head down.

We do not have another one scheduled with the docs office, just the 20 week anatomy scan. But, we are planning on having a 3D/4D u/s at a private place by our house on June 3.

I don't think it is routine to have another ultrasound unless there is something your doctor needs to check. Starting at 28 weeks I will have them every 2 weeks but that is because I have a bicornuate uterus and they want to make sure her growth is not restricted. Most of my friends have not had one after 20 weeks.

I'm having another u/s done on Tuesday, but it is only because I have borderline high blood pressure and they want to check to make sure the baby is growing. Typically 20 weeks it is unless there is a problem.

I get an US done everytime I go to see my Dr. (Which is now every two weeks since I'm 7 months...I know most start that at 8 months, but whatever, my insurance pays, not me.) Wink

My OB will not do another one unless there are complications. I did find a way around that though. I contacted my local technical college and volunteered to be a model for their pregnancy ultrasound class. So DH and I will get to see our LO one more time before he is born.

Most don't have another after 20 weeks unless something arises later in the pregnancy where they need to check growth, fluid, and the baby's chest cavity(the sucking reflect).

Also, if your OB/MW "lets" you go past 40-41 weeks they usually do an ultrasound at that time, just to check fluid levels and see how LO is doing. We did this with DD1, and she was snug as a bug (took another 5 days before she decided she was ready!)

I had 2 with #1 (anatomy scan and to make sure she was head down) and 1 with #2 and 3. I've had 3 so far with this pregnancy (1st was the dating U/S, 2nd was for a bleeding scare and 3rd was the anatomy scan). They also do a 3rd trimester U/S and will do a complimetary 3D at that time. I'm hoping to make that appointment at my next visit

My doc said no more except maybe to check the positioning of the baby if necessary closer to my due date. I am going for an elective 3D one on the 28th bc my anatomy scan was disappointing as far as pictures go for me.

i had one at 20 weeks and that was supposed to be the last one. BUT, they couldn't get pics of all chambers of the heart, so i have to go back at 28 weeks. they don't think there's anything wrong, but she wants to see all chambers. LO wouldn't turn for them at 20 weeks. no amount of shaking, walking, drinking, or peeing would make her move.

We were told at our 20 week u/s that that would be the last one unless my doctor orders another one for some reason. So we don't expect to see him again until he's here.

I had my anatomy scan at 20 weeks, a growth ultrasound at 24, and have another growth ultrasound scheduled at 32 weeks. My baby was measuring small at my anatomy scan. I have hyperemesis and am still below my pre pregnancy weight so that is why we are doing a growth ultrasound at 32 weeks.

I had one at 8 weeks, 12 weeks (NT Scan), 20 weeks, and a 3D one at 27 weeks. My doctor won't be doing anymore unless something comes up.

I have had 4 already and only will have 4 unless more sudden problems arise. My insurance only does 2 unless there are problems. The first one I had was the dating US, the second I had was for bleeding, the third I had was my 20 week anatomy scan and the fourth and last one I had was because I had low lying placenta and they wanted to see if it had moved at 27 weeks. I've been lucky but without these problems I would have only had 2.

I have one on Monday, but its because our LO didn't seem to grow enough between this appointment and the last, so my Dr. wants to make sure everything's alright. I'm excited to see him again but anxious at the same time.

I was told that I will get another one at 36 weeks to check on size and position. My doctor has a machine in her office and performs them herself, so I get some "unofficial" ultrasounds that it looks like others don't get. I consider myself lucky! I hate having to wait that long (that will have been 15 weeks). In the first 21 weeks I had 4.

My OB generally does an ultrasound around 36 weeks to check the baby's size and the amniotic fluid levels. Then, if you go past your due date (like I did with DD), you get one everytime you're in the office - which is every 2 to 3 days at that point - so that they can monitor your fluid levels.

With DD I had the big one at 23 weeks and that was the last. With this one they will be doing growth ultrasounds about once a month or so. My next one is Monday

My doctor does one in each Trimester, I believe the last one I had with my first daughter was around 32-33 weeks to check her size.
