Georgia Babies

vent.

So hand, foot, and mouth are apparently making rounds at daycare.  Guess what?  L is already on an antibiotic for a sinus infection.  Today at work I get a call that she has a 101 fever and I need to get her. Now, she has this rash on her cheeks.  Just friggin great.

I'm so sick of her being sick! I'm out of sick days and work is super crazy right now.  She seems to be sick every other week! So I get to stay home with a sick kid tomorrow.  I love my DD.  But this is getting insane.  Is this normal at other daycare centers?  To be sick every other week?

It is not a good thing to have a sub during all this madness.  Why do some people wait until the end of the school year to suddenly be all concerned about their kid's grades when they are available 24/7 online?  UGH!!!!!!  It has turned into a poopfest on the teacher lately.  I feel so unappreciated!  No one has any idea how I work my butt off.

Please, I beg you.  Don't ever do that to your child's teacher at the end of the year.

Re: vent.

  • P would be "sick" off and on quite a bit but always over it in a day or so.  She got HFM TWICE at KCLC and also whatever the cold of the week was plus a super fun stomach flu. Good news is the older she got the less sick days there were.  Hopefully Lily is building great immunity!

  • My kids were both sick all the time up until they were almost 3.  It was like a lightswitch and both have been super healthy since.  I think its a matter of building up immunity like PP said.   They can either go through it now....or when they start Kindergarten.  I'm personally glad we've gotten it out of the way somewhat.....better to miss now than later when it counts.

This exactly.  While they still get sick, it's not nearly as often as it once was, and they get over it super quick.
