3rd Trimester

do I head to L&D?

So three days a go I got totatlly sick for like a hour straight. Before I pulled my scene from the movies I had mild cramping.

Now for the last two days I have had lower back pain, which use of a heating pad makes tolerable. Cramping and braxton hicks contractions like two every hour. I also am having continous lightening croch.

My feet are so swollen they hurt and now I am getting a headache.

I am not sure if this amounts to a visit to L&D all together I know seperately it is just the norm!

Any adivce? OB hasn't returned my call

If your OB doesn't return your call in the next 30 min, I would trust yourself and head into L&D... better safe than sorry...

  • it sounds like you might simply be in early labor... I would wait a bit longer to chat with your OB but if you are in pain, and the hospital is not too far of a drive, i'd head on there. At least they can help reassure you....
  • I would wait a little longer for the doctor to call. how far along are you? if you arent full term yet, personally , I would go to the ER.

  • Go in, worse thing they could do is send you back home.

  • If you can't get into see your OB today then yes I'd definitely go to L&D just to be safe!
  • I would try calling your OB and if no response call L&D and ask if you should head in to be checked out. My L&D is always great about weather or not you need to come in when you call. GL I hope things get better.
  • If you're concerned about the swelling I would call your OB and try to get in for an appointment. Otherwise, none of this sounds like labor. Without knowing how far along you are it is hard to tell if it's just your body prepping up or something more indicative of pre-term labor. I was in pre-term labor at 26 weeks and I was told to go in if I was having 5 or more BH an hour. 2 an hour is nothing, that can happen for weeks. The swelling could be preeclampsia though so call. Hope you feel better!
