Cloth Diapering

So DH and I for sure want to CD. First of all of everything I have read it is just a lot better for the baby. All of my siblings and myself were CD because we broke out with regular diapers. Not to mention I will be a SAHM and it will be a lot more cost efficient. My biggest question is what are the basics I need to know...what do I need to consider when registering? What are some things you wish someone would have told you about CD? TIA

Also, I really found the series of cloth diapering 101 on youtube to be helpful. The woman broke down the basics and made it really easy to understand and I got even more excited about it!

The first video shows the different types of folds for a prefold then the series goes into different types of diapers, types of detergents, how many you need of each, etc.

I would get you some prefolds and covers for the newborn stage, and then wait until after your LO gets here to decide which type of diaper to buy. I wish I had waited- because the kind of diaper I bought didn't fit my LO's shape, and I had to sell them and buy more. It was a hassle that could have been avoided with some patience on my part.

I am currently building my stash so can't say I have experience yet, but I found a local CD store that offered classes. I had done a lot of google-ing, but the class made it all click. Learning out the different options and getting to see and touch them was really nice. Hopefully their is a store near you!
