Gift ideas for 4 y.o. boy?

I'm thinking of getting the Curious George Discovery Beach Game -- DD has a similar One Fish Two Fish game and loves it -- but I'm wondering if there are any better ideas. He's a boy-boy, and his birthday theme is Star Wars, but I obviously don't have much experience in what toys boys like. TIA!

I was at a birthday party last weekend and all the boys were fighting over who got to play with the dinosaurs - they all loved dinosaurs.  I don't think you can go wrong with them-- books, figures, anything.

  • Hot Wheels

    Legos

  • I've noticed recently that kids pick their party themes when they are just in love with a certain thing.  For example last year my 3 yo niece picked Strawberry Shortcake and back than she was obsessed w/all things SS.  This year it was Disney Princesses and again she was obsessed with all things princess.  Harm was the same way.  He picked Thomas and he is in love w/all things trains.  Any gift that was non-trains were just not as cool.

So if I were you I would got to TRU's website and punch in Star Wars and ages 3 & 4 or 5 & 6 and see what they have.  Any Star Wars toy should be a safe bet.

I got this for my nefew a few months ago for his 5th birthday.  He loves it.

  • We went to the bday party for one of DD's preschool friends over the weekend.  We got him a 5 pack of hotwheels trucks and a couple other hotwheels (helicopter and some other flying vehicle...I forget which).  His theme ended up being the Cars movie, and he seemed to like them.

  • I second the pirates and dinosaurs.  Those are always hits with four year olds!

  • In my opinion, you should gift your 4 year old something fun as well as something educationalso he can learn even while playing. Last week i bought our 5 year old son thisfun/educational gift basket and he loves playing with it for hours at a stretch !
