here is my face.
i need a new "do".
it is pretty fine - but I have a lot of hair. it dries straight - no curl or volume. Currently it's very very long and I generally part it on the side (where it just naturally falls). I've tried bangs before... and it didn't go so well - but that may have been the cut's issue. I'm willing to give bangs another try if needed for the right style.
please, can you pip a good style for me? Or tell me who's face I should google.
Also, if you love your stylist, please AW them. I've gone to many (even the raved z ig z a g...) and have yet to find someone that I feel obligated to return to (based on the quality of the cut).
Any help is super appreciated.
Re: I need "the" haircut.
I always like side-swept bangs, though they can be hard to make stay if your hair is fine. You could also pull off long straight bangs, like these ladies.
I would do a side part swing bob. Shorter at the nape than at the front, not much in the way of layers but with textured ends for movement. Straight fringe is going to make your face look really round. I'm guessing that with dance you don't want your hair in your face? You'll need it to either be long enough to pull back or short enough that it's not an issue- since you have long hair now, going that short would be a HUGE change.
Never mind the funky haircolour here:
It seriously will not let me edit. :-/
A longer version of this (about 1-2" below your shoulders in the front, brushing the bottom of your neck in the back):
With your hair type it would be minimal styling, minimal product. If you wanted to do something different for a night out or whatever, you could style it like this (this is pretty much the same haircut, but Nichole Richie has curly hair with a Brazilian Blowout):
Dude, you could totally rock that! If you ironed it you'd be closer to the picture, if you put in some texture cream and let it air dry you'd have a soft looser version and if you wanted to use a diffuser you could pump up the curls a bit more. That's the beauty of the long bob. it works with just about every hair type out there (cut slightly different depending on curl pattern and texture of course).
Here's a don't pic:
This is what happens if you get a) bad fringe and b) one length all around. There is no denying that Hayden Panettiere is a super-hottie, but this does nothing even for her. It's just "blah". It screams "small town midwest".
If you wanted to go really short, check out Michelle Williams. She has a similar face shape and straight fine hair. Hayden Panettiere has some other styles that would look great on you, but they're more textured and would require a lot more work from you on a daily basis (curling and such). That goes against every recommendation I ever make. :-)
i'm totally sold on the swing bob. thanks so much m_m.
