Beth Israel nyc

My doctor is affiliated with Beth Israel hospital in Manhattan but I?m not sure this is the right hospital for me.   When I ask around to friends and co-workers, it seems that nobody has heard of a single person having a baby there--which is starting to scare me.

Has anyone had any experiences at Beth Israel?

    One of my relatives gave birth there. It was a situation where she started to dilate at around 20 weeks and she was put on bedrest at the hospital. They ended up transferring her to Columbia Presbyterian because she needed a high-risk specialist and they also wanted her to be in a hospital with a NICU that could handle a baby born very early. In other words... if you might have any complications, I'm not sure if Beth Israel is the best choice. If you're young and everything is going fine, then it is probably okay.

    Thanks for the advice.  I'm not high risk but it still makes me uncomfortable that I've never heard of any positive stories (or any stories besides your for that matter) about giving birth there.  Hopefully, I will hear some more stories soon so that I can make my decision:)

    I gave birth there and had a great experience there. The nurses in L&D were awesome. Would use them again if and when we have baby #2.

     

    One of my gf gave birth there this past Oct and she was 35 weeks. They did an awesome job. Her baby was in NCIU for almost 3 weeks and she talks about how great all the nurses were and she even goes and visits them.

    I gave birth there a few weeks ago and LOVED my experience. I really wanted to have LO at a birthing center, but being a FTM and not knowing what to expect, I decided a hospital was the way to go. They were really comforting and not at all forceful or pushy, at no point did I ever feel rushed. One of the Beth Israel clinic OB's delivered my LO. I also splurged or their nicest deluxe room for recovery and as far as I'm concerned, after 34 hours in labor, I totally deserved the private room with a nice view.
