Update on Delaney

It's been a wild two days. We found out yesterday that Delaney had e coli in her blood when she was born which was a result of my uterine infection that developed during labor. She will be in the NICU for nine more days. It's hard to know I'll be leaving the hospital soon and she will stay behind, I'm an emotional wreck.

I was supposed to be discharged today but I developed a fever of 101.1 which now means another night in the hospital and I can't go down to the NICU to feed or visit Dee. I'm so overwhelmed with all that has happened over the past five days and can't wait for May 29th to arrive and we can take our little girl home and we can start our new lives. I still promise pics of the little lady once I'm home because she really is beyond cute.

Oh no, how awful! Thoughts and prayers that she will be home from the hospital sooner than later and you are able to hold and cuddle her as much as you want!

Thanks girls, it really is the hardest thing having a baby in the NICU. I just got word I'm being discharged today so your prayers definitely are working and we really appreciate it.

Leaving your LO is impossibly hard. ::hugs:: and know she is in the right place to get the care she needs. Visit her as much as you can (or send your DH if you are not allowed in because of your infection). The next nine days will seem long but once her meds are done, she will be home and healthy. Let me know if you have NICU questions, after 3 months I'm an expert.
