Long story short, my little one got here at 4:13 today. We were induced much to my dismay. After about 5 hours of contractions, I ended up moving wrong and hurting my hip very badly. Our planned natural birth became a medicated birth with an epidural.
Four hours later as I shifted position I suddenly felt very off. The world was spinning, everything was ringing, and I was shaking. I told the nurse who ran to get smelling salts. My BP dropped to 74/32 in seconds, and LO's heart rate hit 59. My mother hit the call button and yelled that my face was purple. In seconds our room was full of people working over me. The M/W ran down 5 flights of stairs to get to us.
They got my bp up in about 5 min. And the m/w announced the baby was crowning. Within 22 minutes of my b/p dropping my little girl was born. It was 3 sets of 3 and one set of 5 pushing and she slid out. The m/w almost dropped her and DH managed to jump and catch her just in time.
She was 9 pounds 1 ounce, 21 inches and a head FULL of blonde hair!
Re: Bump Debut of Carolina Grace PIP
They were attempting to help me roll over to my side and it dislocated. I've had problems for years with my hips and so the dislocation was nothing new. I've been known to pop a dislocated hip back in place by pressing against a wall, and then continuing my day. But, the pain of the hip on top of contractions made it to hard to focus on breathing through the contractions. And they didn't want to put it back in place till after delivery because they were afraid of hurting the baby...OW
Oh, and thank you
She is such a daddy's girl already.

I didn't catch all of what they were saying, but I guess they were worried about her shoulder catching and if it caught it could make her turn to the right or left when she came out. They guessed left and had some ppl there to back the m/w up if she came faster than they thought. Her shoulders didn't catch, and so she went straight and startled the m/w. She had her shoulders but almost dropped her. DH managed to grab her bottom half and hold her till the m/w got a better grip.
She's precious and that hair is just gorgeous!
I'm so glad you are both ok! How scary.
Thank you to all!
I'll post more pics once I get her home.
Kathy, they think shifting position from my left side to sitting up suddenly pinched a nerve or something. It was very scar.
