DS fell asleep right after I fed him at 8:30 last night. I went to sleep around 10:30. He woke me up at about 1am to feed, and then I pumped. I got him back to sleep around 2:45. At 3am, my 5 year old stepdaughter appears in my room. (just a couple days ago, she had her first bad dream..before that night, she NEVER got out of her bed and came to our room. DH is out of town so I let her crawl into bed with me that night). Last night, she said her ear was bothering her. So I cleaned it out with a q-tip and tucked her back into bed. 10 minutes later, she was BACK in my room! I asked her what was going on and she couldn't tell me. So I took her back to her bed and turned on a lamp in her room in case she had another bad dream and was scared even though she wasn't saying that was the issue. I heard her up and down (she walks heavy and her room is upstairs while mine is down). I went back up and told her she HAD to go to sleep. By now, it's 4:30am! I ended up calling DH and making him talk to her on the phone to get her to go to sleep. Well now, I know that DS is going to wake for another feeding any minute, so I go ahead and get him up and manage to dreamfeed him. I finally lay back down to sleep and of course, my alarm goes off an hour later at 6am to get SD up and ready to go to school. So I got a total of about 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, and LO is NOT to blame. Nights like last night, I really wish DH would come back home!! (he's away with the Army Reserves training right now).
I sure hope tonight is not a repeat! My luck, tonight DS will have a tough time sleeping.
