So, for those of you who are trying to get the 'show on the road', I though I'd share what I think worked for me. I know the old wives tales says it works and well, you might just have to try it yourself!
The day before my D's arrival, I woke up in the morning thinking, "not too much longer before she's here, I better get some while I can!" I woke up my husband very "nicely" and we had some fun.
It lasted longer than usual and I definitely focused more on myself-making sure I was enjoying all of it. Well, not long after we finished, I started feeling contractions that were pretty irregular, but by early the next morning they had increase in time, length and strength and it was time! When we went to the hospital, one of the admission questions asked whether or not I had had sex in the last 24 hours and I laughed to myself as I answered, yes. lol!
Re: It got things rolling for me ;-) (TMI?)
I had an appointment today and a 2nd with the high risk OB (I'm in the 35 and over crowd) after my NST since apparently my cervix is locked tighter than a Supermax prison - maybe 1/2 cm dilated - my regular OB wanted me to discuss induction with him due to the estimated size of the baby. He's dead set against induction at this point - pretty much said "you might as well schedule a c-section rather than induce - you're unfavorable and it probably won't work."
He told us to go home and have sex - gave H the fist-pump thing - and had a good laugh with H and his resident. I was like - WTF - is this the OB version of Jersey Shore? That much testosterone shouldn't be allowed in an OB office. I am, however, desperate so we did it when we got home and will again tonight. I really hope there is something to it. He told me to put a pillow under my hips afterwards and elevate my legs for about 20 minutes - which is ironically how I got pregnant so maybe it will get me un-pregnant. Otherwise I'll go in Sunday and they'll try and induce. Thanks for the story - gives me hope!

Originally I thought sex was our best answer to jump starting labor. At only 36 weeks a fun round of sex turned into 4 hours in L & D with contractions five minutes apart. Eventually they fizzled out. Same thing happens just about everytime we have sex now (minus the trip to L & D) and still no baby. Doc checked my cervix yesterday and i'm only a fingertip dialated. The sex = labor theory seems to be just a myth for us.
Hmmm...
I let DH talk me into a dose of the "natural pitocin" (his term, not mine LOL) last night including making sure I enjoyed myself...and nada.
Ditto.
