Last time we lived an hour from the hospital so I had everything packed for both DH and I for over a month. This time I'm not as worried since we only live 5 miles from the hospital. Plus they only keep you a day instead of 3 at my other hospital. I won't need much of anything this time.
Probably right before I head to the hospital...I have a list of what all goes into my bag, I just don't want to look at the suitcase for weeks wondering when I'll need it again.
I've started, but only with the stuff that I have no use for right now. I have nursing PJ's and bras that I've thrown in a bag so I know where they are when I really get ready to start packing.
I'd like to do it soon, but that's probably not going to happen for a while. I always get caught up in other things. Worst case scenario, I'll send the hubby home for a few items.
I said full term meaning like a day before my DD lol.. This hasn't fully sunk in yet.. I think it's going to be a while before I really realize I actually have to go somewhere and get the baby out x_x

My husband just decided that we should work on it this weekend, which will be at almost 32 weeks for me.
I think we will mostly just pack our travel size toiletries, and things I don't have to use in the next 8 weeks, like fuzzy socks, underwear, and flip flops.
Other than that, we'll make a list to put with the bag of what other things we do use daily and we'll need to grab that day. And starting this weekend we are going to attempt to keep those things in one central location when they aren't being used so in theory, we can grab them all at once. Like cell phone chargers, camera, etc.
I plan to start packing the bag in the beginning of June, which is 35-36 weeks for me. I have thrown a few travel-sized toiletries I had laying around the bathroom in my bag, but that's it. Mostly I'll have a list in there so I can do the last minute packing when I go into labor without thinking.
I'm already packed but its only b/c LO's heart condition means they could take him at any time. I never planned on taking much though! I bought all travel size toiletries, tossed in some comfortable clothes, the boppy, and LO's coming home outfit. Chargers, camera, and stuff like that I generally have in my purse or DH can get.
Married ~ DD 2004 ~ 2 2nd tri losses ~ DS 2011 5 weeks 1 day early ~ DD2 2012
I have already started...I delivered DS#1 at 36 weeks, which is 3 weeks away for me. I don't want to rush around at the last minute. I was so happy I had my bag packed the last time, I didn't have to worry about anything, just getting to the hospital:)
I am having a scheduled repeat csection, on a monday. So I will pack the weekend before. If anything happens before that I am not worried. I can grab things as I run out the house, or my DH will get it all together for me.
I just throw in a comfy going home outfit, baby's going home outfit, SMALL amount of make-up (concealer, eyeliner, lip gloss) , deodorant, and toothbrush. Breast pump comes along too.
I do this about a week before the due date. I don;t see what the big deal is in being packed so early. I also know there will be no surprise fancy luncheons while I am there. So why do I need anything but my hospital gown? (I'd rather get their stuff dirty and bloody that first day or two!)
Re: CPW: when will you (or did you) pack your bag?

My husband will pack our bag while I labor in bed. Same thing I did with the first.
