I have some J&J but I think I might abandon it and get CA Baby instead. I'd rather skip all the chemicals. I'll use the J&J stuff on myself or donate it.

I got a ton of J&J stuff at my showers like 10-15 bottles of stuff but now I'm thinking I shouldn't use it.
once I found an article/website about the chemicals in some of the typical products (i.e. Johnson&Johnson) I couldn't *knowingly* bathe my child in something that could potentially have sideeffects down the road... although that's what my parents used with me and I'm fine...( **this is not meant to knock anyone who uses these products, just research and make your own choice)
Anyways Love California Baby, I bought the bigger pump of the shampoo/bodywash in the fall and I still have a good amount left, so while it may be priceier, it defiantely lasts a long time too!

We're using Earth Mama Angel Baby products. After my sister showed me this site that tells you the chemical content and hazardous ingredients in products. I forget the site, but it rates the products on their "purity" level. It also gives you a list of heath problems associated with ingredients listed in the product you are searching.
I am too freaked out to use the more popular brand products. (I don't mean to disrespect anyone who is using these products! It's a personal choice. I had NO idea that some of the more common brands had such a high chemical content! We had planned on using Burt's Bee's, and bought their entire baby line. I later found out that the chemical content in their products is super high as well. So I scoured the stores until I found something I felt really really good about putting on baby.)
California Baby wash & calendula cream (and diaper rash cream, and probably sunblock once we start using it! ) based on recs from friends and the ingredients.
We may have had no problems from our parents using the J&J stuff, but remember those companies have been perfecting the cheapest and most profitable way to produce their products for years. It's not the same product it was when we were kids. (And actually I've been disappointed in the new Burts Bees stuff, the company sold and the new ownership has been putting stuff in some of their products that have raised toxicity levels)
I highly recommend checking out products on https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ (used to be skindeep.com, looks like the url has changed)

This is what we use and will continue to use. The calendula line smells so fab! Plus, I'm a redhead, DD #1 is a redhead, and chances are, DD #2 will also be a redhead. We're sensitive.

I am in th skincare business and when in school we tested J&J for PH and it was not good. I refuse to use that. The stuff was SO alkaline and irritating..

I just bought some California Baby wash and will try that to see how LO reacts to it.
Aveeno is owned by Johnson and Johnson....not sure how that affects their products, but if you are worried about J&J, and purchasing Aveeno, may be something to consider.
Thanks so much for posting this! I've been given a bunch of J&J and never even really thought about it! I think I might return it all and try the aveeno. I see it has great reviews on Amazon. Thanks again for everyone's recs and for the OP who posted this!

We'll be using CA Baby. DH gawked at the price, as he does with many of the skincare items I use. What he forgets is that he goes through 8 bars of Dove soap in the time that I use a half bottle (8oz of 16oz) of my body wash - and I shower at least twice a day.
