If I go out, I use gas and spend money on stuff I don't need anyway. DH and I decided to get rid of my car for this reason, and eliminating a car/insurance payment. We do go out, but it is always planned i advance and we usually walk.
I don't think you're the rarity. At east not on this board,,,
No, not anymore. We were definitely home more often than not through the winter and when Owen was still a little baby. It seriously almost drove me crazy. Its nice now because he is in the process of dropping his morning nap, so we can get out and stay out for longer.
I used to when I had 1-2 kids at home & no one was in school. Now I do 3 pick-ups/drop offs from school (8am, 11:30am & 3pm) plus naps & it breaks up the day a lot. I usually don't bother going much of anywhere. It's totally my choice--I just don't want to at this point in my life. That being said--My kids are in tennis, gymnastics, speech therapy & I do volleyball, etc so inevitably I HAVE to go do things each day--but I rather stay home. Next year I am putting DD2 in school full-time & I think I'll take DD3 out more often since I'll have a good chunk of time & only 1 kid with me.
I run a moms group with a friend of mine and we normally have 2 activities a week, plus our weekly playgroup. Ben is also almost always enrolled in some sort of class one day a week. I love my son dearly, but if we stayed in the house all of the time, we would drive each other crazy.
Oh god no. I'd rock back and forth in the corner if I were stuck in the house all day. And I even work part time, so I'm out of the house working most weekdays from 9-12!
Every afternoon I go out with the kids. We have a membership to the zoo and children's musuem, which is a frequent hangout. We do errands and go to story time at the library twice a week. I love filling our days with activities. If I SAH and literally had to SAH all the time, I would work full time.
We are out every day. DS has preschool each morning and I go to the gym/run errands. In the afternoon we go somewhere - park, play date/ play group, museum, classes, etc. I hate staying in all day - I hated it before I was a mom, too. If we do need to stay in (like today - the weather is awful) we have friends come over. I don't drive, either, which is why we live someplace that I can walk everywhere or take the subway.

I don't plan activities away from home each day, but we do spend a lot of time playing outside or at the nearby playground each day when the weather cooperates.
Wednesdays are really the only day we have things planned. We have a baby gym class and then we go couponing at Publix afterward (they're across the street from each other). I just try to figure stuff out to do on the other two days. Last week we drove to the mall and spent the day there, the week before, I think we stayed home more than go out. This week we just went to a dr. appt. on Monday, Target yesterday, today was gym/couponing day, and tomorrow we're staying home. Friday we have a party to attend.
We used to but now that DD has dropped a nap and can be out for longer stretches, we're out more. Plus we're waiting to hear back on the offer we put on a short sale and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO stressed I have to get out. It's been almost a month.

We go out about 3 days out of the week.
